It’s not an emergency, but…the sooner you return to work, the sooner you start building time on the job. This means you are closer to promotions, raises and tenure on the job. You are also building up sick time and vacation time. And don’t forget that you are onsite, so you can see when openings occur faster, and most employers like to promote from within the current staff. So if you consider these options, the sooner you can return to employment, the better.
